Just a few thoughts on this day…

For those few that had to work on this day, the 25th of December, or for those that did not, I just had to get some of my observations out of the way. Why would you ever choose to work on a holiday that is traditionally meant for family or just having it to yourself? For me, I work on this day because I chose to (more money), and that my family is far away and taking the time to go see them would go against my current progress at trying to reduce my debt, pay my bills, and just get to a better situation where life is generally happier.

However, while I sit at work, I notice that one of the employees has chosen to come to work, to play with his gifts and not do anything else. He is not getting paid, and there is absolutely no reason for him to be there. In addition, my boss is the same way. He feels that despite what the general population of the company is doing, he has to silently be a dissident, come into work, do nothing important, and not let anyone know of his presence. Perhaps he feels that by being this unpredictable ghost that nobody cares about he may in fact make an impact in the company and on himself emotionally.

I am getting incoherent and have gone completely off the plan of what I wanted to do with this post. Anyways, if you ever have the chance to take the day off and spend it with people who mean something to you, then do so. However, if you really cannot, then do not feel bad as all your actions should get you to the point of being happier. Thinking that is what gets me through my day.

Merry Christmas everyone.
